New Book. New Fictional Environment.

I'm going to be honest. I own 100+ books. And I've read all of them. Which makes me got nothing new to read. I'm such a bookworm. And I'm extremely glad to have a new book again. It's entitled 'Dork Diaries: Tales from a NOT-SO-Glam TV Star'. It's actually just released this June. I know because I'm a Dork Diaries collector. My collection goes from Paperback to Hardcover books. Which makes my collection incomplete... I'm such a spoiled brat, I know.

The story goes like, Nikki Maxwell just transferred to Westchester Country Day Middle School. She's 14 years old and have to start from zero again. She met Chloe and Zoey, her new-found best friends. MacKenzie Hollister, her enemy. Brandon Roberts, her crush. MacKenzie has a crush on Brandon as well, but Brandon likes Nikki, which makes MacKenzie pretty mad. She tries to make Nikki to transfer to another school, but she failed.

And then the story goes on.

The story is actually pretty cliché in my opinion. The common story of many teenage girls who moved into a new place. The mean girls never disappear, the cute boys never disappear and the dorky friends never disappear. Which is the commonly used plot for many teen stories for girls. Which makes me sick of reading stories about teenage girls. (Just my opinion, no hate.) And the very realistic happy ending that the main girl is going to be popular, going to have a cute boyfriend, going to be friends with the mean girls, or they're going to transfer to another school, having super-supportive best friends since from the start and a very cool family in the end. Which rarely happens in real life.

The story is just going to make you believe that it's really possible. Which is, being 'The new lucky girl in town' story is overrated. Well.. Dork Diaries is actually a pretty good story for preteens. The 'Dork' part changed the overly used plot a little. I enjoy every single page of it.

The main thing is, I'm happy to have a new book to read again.
